Nearly the end :) and so much to do

Ty is ending in two weeks, and there's still so much to be done! Everyone is stressing over projects, probably not a good idea to leave them all to the last minute.. 
  Also we have TY night, which is a night that we show all of the work that we have done for the past year, and we hold dance performances, and there will be singing too.
Next Thursday we have " Drive for life " which is a talk about being safe on the road. They will tell us about all the accidents that have been on the road, and also how to prevent accidents and to tell us to always be a safe driver. We had a talk like this in January and this one is supposed to be 10 TIMES WORSE.. so not really looking forward to listening about accidents on the road :(

BRAVEFORCE

Tomorrow we are going to ' BraveForce' . This is a 3 K run , with obstacles. Our PE teachers organised it for us , it looks so fun! Basically we have to run like a normal race , and then there are obstacles like swimming through a river and jumping over logs , and crawling under nets into mud , and climbing up nets , its going to be so good!
        They told us that when we get into the water we have to go so slow because its freezing , and if we jump right into it we could go into shock... a little scary.
  But it should be a great day out :)

 Also tomorrow morning we are getting a talk on Internet safety. Our vice principal told us that she heard the talk before and that it is scary to hear what actually can happen on the Internet , and that we really do need to be informed about it.

My Work Experience

For my second work experience I went to ' Sign World' in the Mill in Celbridge. I wasn't expecting the week to be amazing but it was! On my first day I did general office work , learned how to graphic design on the computer and got to meet the owner of a new jewellers in Grafton Street.
   On my second day I got to go into the Helix , onto the set of ' The Voice Of Ireland ' and meet the managing director and the stage director. I got to see the sign that was there and my supervisor put neon all around it , I got to go out the next day to help put the sign back up and then had lunch with all the people in the show! ( not the judges or contestants :( )
    On my last day we went back into the Helix to see the sign lighting and I got to meet the presenter of the show and watch some of rehearsals!

 It was such a good week :)

BLACKOUT!

On Tuesday of TY went to Mullingar Arts studio to preform our plays that we've been making the last few weeks.
   My teams play was based on the song " Concrete Angel" . It's about a young girl who was being abused by her mother & in the end her mother killed her.
  The performance went very well , with Aoife playing the abusing mother , Isabelle playing the worried father and Grace playing Holly , the young girl being abused. Everyone really did a great job and the judge really like our performance.
  I didn't want to act in the play so I was in charge of lighting , it was a lot more stressful than I thought! I had to watch the play from the lighting box in front of the stage and hit " BLACKOUT" at the end of every scene , but it was fun too :)
    We are now waiting to hear from the judge to see if we got through to the semi-finals in Cork , I hope we did! :)

Zumba

Today is thursday and we got new activities :D YAY TY !!!!

Great to be back!:)

After having two weeks off for our Christmas holidays , it's actually great to be back in school:) Even though I'm extremely tired , I've started to get back the results of the projects I did before the break.
    I am very happy with all of the feedback I've gotten especially because the projects took so long to do. But now I'm ready to start new projects:)
    I'm looking forward to our English play that we will be preforming in two weeks on an actual stage! Our play is based on the song " Concrete angel" which is a song about child abuse.
   I'm working back stage for this performance and  I am very happy about that. Myself and two other girls will be working on costume , props and the set.

I'm really looking forward to the activities I will be doing this term:)
 
          

My Sisters Keeper , Book review for English

My Sisters Keeper is a story of a girl who sues her parents to the right of medical decisions for her own body. Anna was conceived after her older sister was diagnosed with leukemia . She is a perfect match for her sister , and spends all of her time in the hospital donating blood , bone marrow and anything else her sister needs. Anna thinks as herself as a ' guinea pig ' for her sister. When Anna becomes a teenager she decides to sue her parents so that she wont have to give her sister a kidney. What her parents do not know is that Annas older sister , Kate , does actually want to die , and she asks her sister to do all of this for her. 

  Because Kate has cancer , her mother Sara Fitzgerald , Pays alot more attention to Kate than she does  to the rest of her children , and because of this they all start to act out , like the oldest child and only boy ,Jesse , who keeps coming home late and sets a house on fire.

    Throughout the book , Kate falls inlove with another cancer patient . They become very attached to eachother. Kate is heart broken a few days after a date they have because he did not call her. She found out later that day that Taylor had a relaps and died. 
     This was so hard for her that she tried to overdose so that she could be with Taylor , but Anna found her before she succeeded.
       
  Kate could see how much she was hurting her sister by being alive , even though Anna never showed it. So she asked Anna to sue her parents ' for the right to her own body' so she wouldn't have to donate anything ever again , she wanted her sister to live the life that she never got to live.
    Anna loved her sister so much that she agreeded.

The trial went on for months and all through it Kate was getting worse. Kate told her mother , Sara , that she did want to die.

The story ended with Kate dying of cancer , and her family trying to move on with their lives , but never forgetting her.

   This book is a page turner , you will not put it down. It have romance , comedy and sadness , I would definatly reccommened it.
